I have made a few good friends the last 2 or so years here in Sweden. One is the infamous Hugo from Kokokaka who i will meet up in an hour to go for a nice stroll in the park, and the other is my dear dear friend Joanna that i met thru my SFI(Swedish for Foreigners) class. She and her hubbie Wacek invited us over for some homemade pierogi last night! Dang.. it was sooooooo good! 

Joanna, you inspired me to make some Korean dumplings really soon. I will make sure you two are invited to share them with us! Thanx so much for last night, Johan, me AND Lukas had a great time :) I forgot to take notes for the pierogi stuffing tho..you have to email it to me Joanna, ok?!

 

 

Vecka 38 (V37 + 4 dagar)

Here's my belly pic from this morning guys. I read that your baby stops gaining weight right about now..but i seem to keep on getting bigger and bigger!! I don't know how much i gained since last week, but i sure can feel it!! FYI, my blue polka dot stretch shirt could not cover my full belly so i cheated and photoshopped more fabric towards the bottom:P

Min tredje dag av mammaledighet

It's my third day of mammaledighet(maternity leave) and let me tell you, johan and i have been UUUUUUUUUBER productive + busy since Sunday!! We got most of the hospital bag ready(just need to put in food for johan as we leave), got an awesome changing table/diaper bag list from Maria and got everything from the list including a diaper bag. We got the stroller crib ready to go which is even lined with a grey ludde we got from IKEA. We set up the baby seat in the car and we cleaned out one full side of the kitchen pantry for future Lukas food stuff!!

And between yesterday and today, Johan miraculously cleaned out the ALL the boxes that's been sitting in our living room corner for the last 2 years! He even went so far to clean out our basement + attic storage! I got the bug and i removed all my old music/data cds that were just sitting on the shelves taking up space + collecting dust, and cleaned out my desk cabinet/drawers and made it spacious with just current stuff. Our apartment is looking mighty nice! 

The highlight was Johan finding his 2 long lost buddies from when he was a toddler, Johan handwashed it and i have to stitch up a few areas, but they will be ready for Lukas for sure!! Kolla!

 

 

My first homemade Udon!!

Well, i didn't make the noodles but i did make my first dashi with the bonito flakes that Amy sent along with the 다시마 Yoohyun sent me long time ago :) It was soo easy!! Next time i will try to add shitake mushrooms, some more veges, fishcakes or even shrimp tempura!! Johan liked it too, he said it was as good as the udon he had in the popular udon joint in paris! Oh, how i love udon...

Ett plus...

Min vän Jocke har precis skickat mig denna cartoon strip i morse.. det är jättelämpligt för oss nuförtiden :) Tackar Jocke, jag trott att jag ska bestämma denna boken strax!

On a different note, we had our last lecture for the KY Akademin this morning. In today's lecture we saw their final project presentations and had a discussion and feedback time. At the end, i gave out papers to both students and their 2 instructors and asked them to give Kokokaka anonymous feedback. And surprisingly, i got a special note from one of the Instructors in english praising me :) Hee hee.. it's a nice "note" to leave on, on this final day before i go on my mammaledighet! Less than 4 hours to go!!

My second last day of work before i go off on my Mammaledighet :)

Tomorrow is my last day of work before i start my maternity leave, but since many people were out of the office tomorrow we got together today and had a big lunch and choklad fika afterwards :) I am going to miss my colleagues a lot, but i know i am always welcome to come visit with Lukas so i am not too sad!!

 

 

 

     

Push gift to myself...

Ok.. i am trying to make an excuse for the spontaneous purchase i just made during lunch time...but i couldn't resist!! Some of you may know both Johan and i am a fan of APC and i happened to stop by one of the few cozy boutiques i like here in Göteborg that carry APC goods. And then of course i couldn't resist and ended up getting a cute sweater!! Can't wait to wear it after i give birth :)

B.t.w., we had our 5th midwife meeting this morning and everything is good :) Lukas is guesstimated to be around 2.8 kgs, his heartbeat was 142 average, and most importantly his head was still facing down and wasn't in breech position!! Yay!! 

As for me, my heartbeat was good, my lung x-rays turned out good, and I weighed myself again and i am 60kgs on the dot. So everything was good.. another good excuse for a cute APC sweater no? :P

Allihoppa väntar på Lukas...

Johan and i have started to get our bedroom ready for Lukas. Now we are all awaiting Lukas' big arrival!! Big thanx to Mathias Appelblad for the awesome crib, Hugo + Annika for coming over last night with beautiful flowers, i LOVE the flowers!! :) 

We took down our old wooden hanger behind the rocker and contemplated on what to do there... i found this great tree shelf designed by a Korean designer that i really liked but the dimensions were too big for our bedroom and the logistics of shipping it over to Sweden was crazy. In the end Johan and i decided to get another Vitra Hang it all that we already have in our hallway :)

Besides getting our bedroom ready, i have been getting the "HOSPITAL BAG" ready... and on the list they emphasize bringing our own playlist. So far i have one song i would like on our playlist, Jay-Z + Alicia Key's "Empire State of Mind" (couldn't find official video)...so awesome! Makes me happy!!

Jättemagen!!

That's all i gots to say :P Here's me at week 35 + 3 days guys, only 4.5 weeks to go!! FYI, i am wearing maternity jeans for the first time today, it felt weird wearing jeans again but they were quite comfy :)

TUMMY -- 98 cm

WEIGHT -- 60 kgs? I will update this after my 5th visit with my midwife this coming friday morning --> i weighed myself today(oct 22nd) when i went into get my swine flu vaccination and i am a whopping 60.5 kgs!! i must stop eating ben & jerry's every night...

LUKAS --  can't do much kicking and punching no more, so he squirms a lot. has hiccups often too :P

ME + JOHAN -- getting REALLY excited to see Lukas soon!

I also would like to make 2 big shout outs to my 2 special friends today.

First, to my dear friend Gillian down under who is expecting her third child - a girl this time!! she has 2 handsome sons already - and is due just next week :)

 

Secondly, to my dear friend Paola from NYC who is expecting her first child - a boy! - early next year :) Paola, i am waiting for your fantastic belly pic to post for this blog, so send it to me soon!!

Yay! Paola just sent me her week 26 belly pic! Paola! You look FAAAAAAAANTASTIC! And thanx for the xtra KimFu pix.. they look super happy :) Perhaps they are excited about the lil brother they are going to have soon!
