Well, it's the 24th and no sign of Lukas wanting to come out...

but it's only 5:03pm so we still have another good 12 hours before this day is over :) In the meantime, i enjoy having a slice of this delicious pound cake that my friend Joanna baked and gave me today in exchange for teaching her how to crochet :P

On a different note, BIG BIG HAPPY 2ND BIRTHDAY to LIL' BRUSTER !!

Homage to Zucco - Le Steak Hache A Cheval

One of our favorite restaurants in NYC was Zucco's Le French Diner. I think we used to go there like once every two weeks almost!! The food was great but we liked the owner Zucco and he us :) We even celebrated our engagement with him! I liked trying the various dishes on his menu, but Johan always stuck to one dish only - Le Steak Hache a Cheval. It is sirloin burger topped with sunny side up egg with good portion of mashed potatoes on the side. We've been talking about trying to make this dish for a while and tonite we finally did it! The mashed potatoes didn't turn out so well but overall i think we did pretty good.

Hey New Yorkers, if you happen to go to Zucco's, please tell him Sooki & Johan says a big hello from Sweden! And when you are seated..look for our polaroid on the wall of fame :P

Happy 10th Birthday to my eldest niece Noa :)

Happy 10th Birthday Noa!! It was so nice hearing your sweet voice! So let's see if you & Johan are right about Lukas coming out on the 24th, shall we? :)

Ok folks, some update on Lukas!! It was our due date yesterday but Lukas decided he wanted stay in the oven for a little bit longer :) We had our midwife meeting yesterday and she says he is down there but not FULLY DOWN THERE for his extravagant(?) exit. FYI, his cute butt was on the top right side of my tummy(the top left side when you are looking at me), his legs on the left side.. his head still down there with his forehead facing left. His heartbeat was 130 hbs and the midwife guessed that he would be around 3.3 kgs when he is born. As for me, i am still 60.4 kgs, and my tummy measurement was 35cm(from bottom to mid stomach).

Bespoke Mobile for Lukas

Sorry guys, no Lukas still :) But i do have a very exciting post today! Johan and i FINALLY FINISHED the mobile for Lukas yesterday!! Lots of blood, sweat, tears, halsbränna and some pregnant lady whining went into this mobile... But overall Johan and i enjoyed making it and hope Lukas will like it :) Check it out yo! I include the in progress pix in thumbnails...

 p.s. Our due date is just tomorrow!!! Crazy!!!! Johan predicts SAYS Lukas will come out next Tuesday. We'll see about that :)

Christmas in November...

Yesterday we received MORE PRESENTS for Lukas. Seriously, this kid - and us of course -is so lucky!! The first package came from my younger sister Meeyoung, JK and my nephew Hojun (second couple from left). A cute gap outfit and a very very special yellow porsche car that Hojun handpicked himself for Lukas! Meeyoung said that Hojun firmly believes every little boy must have his own car(s). FYI, hojun has like 20 or more, correction, 60 or more!

 

The second HUUUGE package came from our dear friends Ninjette & Sung from NY :) Guys...Johan and i am in awe...you sent us sooooooooo much stuff!! THANK YOU SOOOOOOOOO MUCH FOR EVERYTHING! We can't wait to start using Mika & Tobin's babybjorn babysitter and all the other goodies!! I was going to call you yesterday then i got a bit tired after the mobile making and pompoms.. will definitely call you today girl!!

Lukas säger, "Inte idag mor och far..."

As we await our Lukas to come out into this world.. i continue to keep myself busy as much as possible(when i am not lying on my side resting/sleeping). The weather has been crap.. grey, drizzly, and not much sun... I have a few projects going on. One i finished last night. Flower pom poms to welcome Lukas and brighten up our apt! I originally made it to hang it next to the crib until we found a suitable mobile that we liked, but then Johan and i decided to make our own mobile so it now hangs in our living room. What do you think guys? I like it :) Fyi, our mobile is 90% done. It might be done by tonite....stay tuned!!

Nice day with Carl

Lukas' grandfather Carl is in town from Brazil hoping to see Lukas :) Lukas is staying put for now but we had a nice time walking together in the Botanical Garden and Johan cooked all of us his specialty carbonara pasta for dinner at Gurra's place yesterday! They all asked for seconds :P

Since this might be the last belly pic, I've asked Johan to be a part of the weekly belly documentation and I even put on my special Henrik Vibskov stocking :)

TUMMY -- 101 cm

WEIGHT -- 60.4 kgs

LUKAS -- head is really down there and helps lessen my hernia pressure which is great!

ME -- my tummy is tight always and i get intense cramps once in a while so i need to sit down and take a deep breath..

JOHAN -- every time the above happens, Johan gets super excited and has sparkles in his eyes :)

On a different note, since Johan and i am on a roll being productive with making our home HOMIER + TIDIER, we decided to finally make our coffee table which we sketched out like a year ago!! And thanx to Victor (Victor and his company did all the funky furniture at Kokokaka) i think we can really make it happen :) Stay tuned...here's some pix of our sketch and Johan making a prototype :P
